Platte County Legacy Home

Platte County Legacy Home is located in Wheatland, Wyoming. We are located seventy miles north of Cheyenne. The Laramie Mountains serve as the backdrop to the west of town. We are a skilled nursing facility offering short term rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, respite care, long term comprehensive medical care.

Our facility, built in 2016 is over 49,947 square feet and offers semi-private and private rooms, totaling 50 nursing home beds and 16 assisted living beds.

Platte County Legacy Home is a non-profit facility directed by a board of trustees. The Platte County Hospital District Board of Trustees consists of seven elected members from the citizens of Platte County. The day to day operations of the facility are managed by Rural Health Development.

I was born and raised in Wheatland, Wyoming, and am happy to be raising my three children here.  I graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology.  I have been the Social Services Director for Platte County Memorial Nursing Home now known as Platte County Legacy Home, since 2013.  I have enjoyed being the Social Services Director immensely and am very excited about my new role as Administrator. What I enjoy most is being involved in our resident’s and their families’ lives and the opportunity for community involvement.

Platte County Memorial Nursing Home is located in Wheatland, Wyoming, 75 miles north of Cheyenne and contracted with RHD in November 2009. Wheatland (population 3,500) is a progressive small town, boasting participation in the largest consumer-owned power program in the country. Residents enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, such as wildlife watching, hiking, camping, and proximity to the Laramie Peak area of Medicine Bow National Forest.

Platte County Legacy Home is a 43-bed licensed facility and is the only nursing home in Platte County. The facility recently installed new flooring, created a new resident lounge and private dining room, implemented the Arial Call-Light paging system and purchased a new bath unit. The nursing home employs approximately 50 full and part time employees.
